Sometimes we forget how we got to where we are or the paths we took to get there.  My predicament as an enthusiastic novice with dreams of breeding and showing Jack Russell Terriers was recognized by one of the top breeders -Michelle Ward of Little Eden Kennels.  Her long love for these terriers, hours of study, and outstanding achievements has earned her a place in history of these white body terriers.

I can look back on the day that my path was chiseled in the right direction and it is due to my Mentor.  She took a chance on me and entrusted to me, a pup, to carry on the kennel name.  After my countless phone calls and rookie questions, Michelle’s sense of passion for the breed kicked in and the many lessons and advice ensued.

She educates so I can develop my own perspective.  She answers my questions in a way that I can formulate and apply my own thoughts on the subject.  Her encouragement keeps me focused and so that hopefully someday I can make my own mark on this diverse breed.

One of the most important lessons I will take from this- is about selfless generosity.  Sharing the best of what one has, working towards a common goal of perfection.

I would like to take this moment to thank you Michelle, for all the patience and time that you have for me.  I really look up to you as a mentor, a confidant, and as a friend.  I admire you not only on a professional level but on a personal one as well…you amaze me with your many talents.  You are truly a gifted person to whom we all could look up to.  You have been inspirational to me, taught me patience, and showed me how to look to the future.  Even though I have made mistakes, you have never given up on me….thank you for taking a chance on me.  If I ever have the good fortune to best you in the show ring, just remember you were my teacher.

Thank you again for being there….
